Available Positions
Bike Mechanic - Full-Time (Thurs & Fri availability)
Golden Bike Shop is a premier destination for mountain bike enthusiasts, offering a curated selection of high end trail bikes, accessories, and gear. We are a crew of passionate mountain bikers who love to share our excitement for the sport.
Our service department deals primarily with high-end Mountain bikes, but we see a little bit of everything, so experience with road/gravel/electric bikes is super useful! We perform extensive in-house suspension service and we are more than happy to provide in-depth training on the latest in forks, shocks, and dropper posts; even if you rarely dealt with suspension at your previous shop. We are currently looking to fill a full time position, with Thursday and Friday availability required. Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a professional bicycle mechanic
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivation, confidence, empathy, and passion for all things bicycle
- Strong time management skills
- Moving, lifting, and carrying bikes/boxes will be necessary, must be able to lift 50lbs
- Bonus points for prior experience in suspension, wheel building, or e-bike drive systems
- Extra bonus points for ski tech experience
- Thursday & Friday availability
Responsibilities:
- Identify mechanical issues and offer assessments for repair or upgrade
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous improvement by expressing a strong eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving industry trends and technological advancements
- Effectively communicate and connect with customers, showing empathy and understanding towards their concerns and needs
- Collaborative and effective communication with colleagues
- Sourcing compatible replacement/upgrade parts
Compensation:
- $20+/hr (DOE)
- 80 hours of paid time off for full time employees, accrued annually
