Yeti SB5 Plus
The SB5 plus is somewhat of a surprise from a company like Yeti. With a dedication to racing, Yeti is usually a bit conservative with adopting new wheel and tire sizes for production models. Consider this a sure sign that 27.5+ is here to stay! If you are a rider that prioritizes comfort, control, safety and fun over everything else, this bike will check all the boxes. Consider it a bonus that it essentially matches the ever-popular SB5 in most performance metrics as well. Hop on one of our demo bikes and you’ll see - this thing is no joke!

“I’m still really impressed with the way this thing climbs. I’ll go and do Chimney, and compare the Strava times to stuff I did on my race hardtail, and the speeds are surprisingly similar. I don’t feel like I’m going fast, but the bike just gets over everything, which saves a lot of time. And it’s super fun coming down!”

The SB5 Plus may be the most fun thing you ever throw a leg over.
A lightweight carbon frame, with a plus-specific Fox 34 fork up front.
The Fox Float Factory rear shock keeps those tires on the ground. or, off the ground, which ever you prefer.
The magic of the rear suspension is in the function of Yeti's sliding Switch Infinity pivot link.
Elevated stays and internal routing on the rear triangle make for a couple of sweet design details.
Lightweight, press-fit bb cups keep the cranks spinning smooth.
A carbon intermediary link called the 'dogbone' holds most of the pivot bearings.
A single mounting point under the frame allows you to carry a little bit of something on the bike.
Massive tire clearance on both ends.
An X01 eagle crank and rear derailleur control the power.
A GX Eagle cassette replaced the expensive X01 level cassette for 2018.
A GX level chain is durable and strong.
DT Swiss hubs integrate functional design, and classic style.
SRAM Guide brake calipers look good, and deliver plenty of power.
Guide RSC levers are an upgrade from Yeti's 2017 spec - better adjustability and more consistent lever feel.
2018 Yeti Turq series bikes include the new Yeti Carbon handlebars. These are 780mm wide with 35mm clamp size.
A Maxxis Rekon 2.8" front tire uses a medium-grip rubber compound and supple 120tpi casing for maximum comfort and performance.
Tread detail. Note: rear tire is 60tpi and dual compound rubber.
For 2018 - the 5+ is spec'd with the 35mm internal XM521 rim instead of the 40mm internal XM551 rim.
35mm rims result in a better ratio of rim to tire width with a 2.8" tire. Increasing transitional performance and decreasing unnecessary drag.
Fox Transfer - a sure bet for smooth dropping.
The custom WTB Saddle is embossed with Yeti's factory logo.
Effective compression damping locks things out when smooth sailing.
Easy access rear shock damping adjusters for on-the-fly tweaking.
Yeti has a phenomenal linkage system for full suspension bikes. Come hop on one of our many demo models today and check it out!
