“One thing is for sure is that this is NOT the ASR - carrying speed through the spaced-out rock sections I was still able to get traction and have the suspension recover between hits. My problem is always carrying too much speed into the loose corners where I’m not totally confident, but the aggressive tires and stable geometry totally saved me. I’ve blown those turns so many times in the past, and not nearly the same this time. I’m never the best in descending tight switchback-y terrain, but this bike totally helped. I want one...”
“This is a bike that I wish I could have had back in my Xterra racing days. Such a totally capable climber, and super responsive to out-of-the-saddle efforts, but not a punishing or harsh ride by any means. If I were training for a longer-distance event, this is exactly the way I’d set my bike up. It’s solid enough to be an everyday workhorse, fun enough to go get a bit rowdy, and fast enough to leave me with zero (bike related) excuses. I was amazed by how it settled comfortably into the first half of the travel, but it wasn’t that easy to find the end-range. Really progressive, controlled, and I have to say it was a blast to ride. I’m sold. Kudos to Yeti on the new kit options as well - they are spot-on.”
